Your workspace is on one of Nozle’s plans. Prices match nozle.dev/pricing. See and change your plan in the dashboard under Settings > Billing settings > Plan. These plans and limits apply only to your workspace. They never limit or bill your own customers: you set their plans, limits and alerts yourself.

Events over the included amount

Nozle counts the events your workspace processes in each billing period. The count is reported to your plan every hour.
  • Events over the included amount are never blocked. They are billed as overage at $0.04 per 1,000 events at the end of the month.
  • Overage is billed in blocks of 1,000 events. A started block counts as a full block.
  • Example: 60,000 events on Starter are 10,000 over the included 50,000, so 10 blocks: $0.40.
  • After a plan change in the middle of a month, every event is billed once: events before the change on the old plan’s final invoice, events after it on the new plan.
  • Your Nozle invoice stays a draft for one day after the period ends. Events that reach Nozle late but belong to the period are billed on that invoice while it is a draft, and on your next invoice after that. For the same reason, the Growth and Scale fee of a renewal is collected one day later.

Revenue share

Growth and Scale charge a share of the revenue you collect through Nozle in the billing period: 0.6% on Growth, 0.5% on Scale. Starter has no revenue share.
  • Collected revenue is your paid invoices, excluding tax, minus refunds. An invoice counts through its successful payments, or once as marked paid when it has no successful payment, never both.
  • Each payment or refund is converted to USD at the rate of its date: the official peg for AED, SAR, QAR, BHD, OMR and JOD, otherwise the ECB reference rate. Currencies the ECB does not publish use a second daily public source. A payment in a currency with no rate yet waits until a rate exists; a rate is never guessed.
  • Example: $10,000 collected on Growth adds $60.00.

MRR limit and automatic upgrade

Each plan tracks your MRR against its limit: $5K on Starter, $100K on Growth, $1M on Scale. Tracked MRR is the MRR of your active subscriptions in every currency, converted to USD at the latest ECB rates. It is used only for the limit; the revenue share is charged on collected revenue. Nozle checks the limit once a day. When your tracked MRR passes it, your workspace is upgraded to the next plan automatically:
  • Starter goes to Growth, and Growth goes to Scale. This is the same plan change as the upgrade under Settings > Billing settings > Plan: it applies now, prorated, and unused prepaid time is credited. An upgrade from Starter bills any unpaid overage and the prorated new fee on one invoice.
  • With a saved payment method, the change is charged and applied at once. Without one, the upgrade waits until its checkout is paid.
  • The premium features of the new plan switch on with it.
  • There is no automatic downgrade.
  • Scale over $1M MRR stays on Scale. Contact sales for Enterprise.
Emails when you reach 50%, 80%, 90% and 100% of your included events or MRR limit are coming later.

Premium features

Premium features come with the plan. They switch on when you pay for Growth or Scale, and off when you downgrade or your Nozle subscription ends. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Without the feature, the API says so instead of dropping your input:
  • Progressive billing: creating or updating a plan or subscription with a non-empty usage_thresholds list (or plan_overrides.usage_thresholds) answers 422 with feature_not_available, and nothing is saved. An empty list is accepted. Before, the thresholds were dropped and the call answered 200.
  • Lifetime usage: reading or updating a subscription’s lifetime usage answers 403 with feature_not_available (progressive billing also grants it). Before, it returned amounts that were never computed.
  • Auto-dunning: Growth and Scale organizations can create dunning campaigns, and the hourly run creates payment requests for overdue invoices on the campaign’s schedule. A payment request retries the payment with the customer’s payment provider, or emails the customer the payment link when there is none. On Starter, creating or updating a dunning campaign is refused with forbidden. A customer or billing entity accepts only a campaign of your own organization; another organization’s campaign id answers not_found.
Remove branding hides “Powered by Nozle” in the SDK components and the customer portal only. Invoice, credit note and payment receipt PDFs always show it. See Powered by Nozle. Revenue analytics, analytics dashboards and forecasted usage are not available on any plan.

Usage on the Plan page

Settings > Billing settings > Plan shows your current plan and two usage bars:
  • Events used this period: events used against the events included in your plan.
  • MRR tracked: tracked MRR in USD against your plan’s MRR limit.
At 80% of your included events, a banner shows the percentage used. On Starter and Growth, a note says that passing the MRR limit upgrades the workspace automatically. A bar reads Not reported when Nozle has no number for it yet; it never shows 0% for a missing number. After a plan change in the middle of a period, the events bar keeps counting from the start of the period.

Plan status fields

The dashboard reads the bars from your workspace’s plan status (GraphQL nozlePlanStatus, from Nozle’s billing status of your workspace). Besides the plan, it carries: Limits and percentages are null when the plan has none, and the MRR values are null while a currency has no rate. These fields describe your workspace only. The billing status of your own customers never includes them.
